Wish I could only give half a star. What a waste of time and money. I spent 1-1/2 years on eharmony and only came away with 6 dates total. Felt that some of my matches were a waste of time because they either never answered my request to communicate or did nothing at all on their end. I made it a point to give every guy I was matched up a fair chance. And everytime my subscription period was about to end they enticed me back with buy 3 months get 3 months free or something like that. So wish I could ask for a refund. One guy even went psycho on me when I called him to say I could meet him earlier than our scheduled time. But then he changed his mind and agreed to meet me for coffee anyway. That 'date' ended by 8:30 p.m. and I closed him out the next day.

Ugh.. i hate that i had to give this even 1 star :/ anyways...eharmony (or disharmony as others have called it) is total bs...i kept seeing ads for it on TV so i thought i would give it a try, and i wasnt too impressed to say the least. I spent a good amount of time (almost 2 hrs) filling out the compatibility thing, then submitted it only to get a message come right up saying "we're sorry, but based on the results we were unable to match you at this time" or something like that lol..total waste of time. and that annoying old man whats his name.. dr. neil clark warren? should get in trouble for false advertising..he should state in his ads that some people will not get any results! with that creepy perverted grin on his face he talks about soulmates, deeeeep levels of compatibiltity, and makes it sound like EVERYBODY will meet the love of their lives on his site. what a crock! lol. all i can say is stick to real life dating, and dont waste your money on crap like that. i swear if i hear another ad on the radio or see one on TV i will scream lol..CRAP CRAP CRAP......CRAP !

eHarmony. Their site should be called DisHarmony or something more appropriate. Around 2003 while home on medical leave I decided to try this site and see if it was - as advertised - "a step above the other dating sites".

What baloney. What a scam. It dating site is a scam of some sort and definitely run by a very ideological religious group. I spent hours (and I do mean hours) filling in their online forms. The site itself and the form - kept bombing and I kept losing data. I have 29 years systems experience - and keyboard experience (my whole life) - so it was not me.

After a lot of tea and frustration I finally got this lengthy questionnaire completed, and successfully submitted. I got a response back that the "questionnaire was incomplete" and had to be redone and resubmitted. yurg

I decided to plow into the form one last time. Hours and hours later I completed the form - this time trying to second guess what the psychology was behind their questions. I was drawing the conclusion that they were culling out - those who did not fit into, some profile...most especially, I concluded that this did have something to do with - one having to have, strong and very religious, convictions. (that is anyone applying to join their site)

A few days passed after this supposed "successful" submission of their maze like form - and I finally received a REJECTION!!! I was not suitable for their dating site - no explanation given. A year or two ago I saw an evening new "magazine" show (say 20/20 or 60 Minutes) which did a "special" on eHarmony. The female interviewer (can't remember which one it was) - also - waded into their questionnaire and completed it - saying also how long, involved and complex that questionnaire was. SHE TOO, WAS REJECTED by eHarmony - no reason given. When she attempted to ask the founder - on the show - about this rejection - he was vague and gave no answer.

Subsequent to this show I looked up the founding organization and it's founder... and their ties. Just as I suspected - an ideological religious group. So therein lies an answer for many people. Besides which - in thirty some years of trying newspaper, magazine, and online dating - I have yet to meet one person that I could even form a friendship with. And I am just an average, neither ugly nor gorgeous, regular middle-class woman.

Very nosy on their part. They don not prvide a secvure line for communication. How outrageous.

Is it possible to give this site less than 1 star? One of my friends recommended I try this, and they sent matches based on what, I don't know. Their charges are rediculous, and be very careful, because they will charge you even when you aren't using the site. When you want to delete something, it takes forever, and the people I was matched with I frequently had nothing in common with.
Save your money!!

I joined eHarmony back when they were running their "free communication weekend", thinking "Why not, maybe something will happen in 3 days". On Sunday night, I start communicating with somebody and get up to the 3rd stage of communication. The free weekend ran out before I could read the latest answers from my match, so I subscribed, because I felt, based on his profile, he and I would hit it off and something would come out of it. So the next day, I see the match had closed communication! Why would he suddenly do that after the 3rd stage? I feel ripped off and scammed!

Another thing eHarmony does...they suggest changing your criteria on your matches! For example, they suggested I change how much my match drinks from "not at all" to at least "a few times a week" so that I would get more matches. So I have to be looking for a drunk in order to be matched with somebody? Please! As somebody who doesn't drink at all, I want my match to be the same way.

They also suggest I look for somebody over 100 miles away...that's just way too far!

So for anyone even considering this website...don't believe the hype or the commercials! It's a huge scam, in my opinion, and I wouldn't be surprised if Consumer Affairs shut them down within the next few years. I'm surprised they already haven't!

Let me say that eharmony has some redeeming qualities but they are few..The main problem with eharmony is they will send you matches that are no longer members and they entice you to rejoin the site with matches who are not members. You ask how I Know.I got a match from Eharm. I sent an email no response then I found her on Match.com..Emailed her and ask her if she was a member. She said she had not been a member in a long time.

So don't be snookered by Eharm...I have questioned them about this many times but obviously no response... I would like to file a class action suit against eharmony to prevent them from sending matches who are no longer member...Remember their ads (they will match you with someone compatible in the 29 areas important to a relationship) if you have a interest please contact me at evoltsal@hotmail.com Jim

Actually this site is horrible. They match you with someone or many at the same time so it is not better than walking into a store and striking up a conversation with someone you feel compatible with. The key thing they are missing is the fact that we are human beings and must be attracted to someone by their appearance. Many of their members do not have a photo and I shot them down in a second. I suggest to anyone not to waste on penny on this site.

The problem with this site is that you may get the matches but the matches may not be paying members and can't respond or communicate with you, so the limitations they put on non paying members ruins the whole thing. I know, I'm a non paying member and all kinds of matches are trying to communicate with me and when I try to respond it goes to the registration page so at the other end they think no one replies

Waste of my money and I feel sad that I even tried. I certainly feel worse for the experience. They have hardly had any matches for me and of course don't suppose their fault but everyone I have tried to communicate with (who actually matched) hasn't answered. They sent me people 3 or 4 states away and I indicated that I would only want someone within a reasonable distance from me. I don't mind moving but won't move 3 states from my home. I guess what bothers me most is that I actually tried to communicate and tell them the problem and they send me a form type letter..no real communication and I think I paid enough to get that. They are a waste of money.
