If I could give negative stars, I would! These people make their money by continuing to charge your credit card after your membership expires and refusing to give you a refund. Quite frankly, you're better off spending the money on a couple of drinks and talking to people in a bar. At least you can see what the people actually look like (vs. the best picture they ever had taken doctored up in PhotoShop.) What a crock! If you are determined to try it out, plan to double the cost - it will take you months to cancel the damn thing!

If they can accept you online, why then do you have to mail them a form, printed on your own printer other than the fact that they get another month's money out of you. They SUCK big time! I would like to give them a 0 star but they don't even give us that privilege! Sorry I ever got involved with them.

Yahoo personals is the biggest scam going, It is full of bots and fake profiles. I guarantee you that more than half of those profiles are fake, and I am convinced it is yahoo that is making it seem like there are more people on their site than there really is. I think yahoo is the one creating all the bogus profiles. I think it is time we take action against this company and stop them from taking peoples hard earned $$....anyone with me???

I know other's have had problems with "online" dating so I was skeptical to say the least...I figured I'd try the 7 day free trial thing. I met multiple people and went on a few dates, and then one day in May I got the most unique IM I had ever received. All it said was "howdy", this peaked my interest due to the fact that everyone else that had IMed me had basically said the same thing, "you're pretty", "nice eyes", "what up" etc. I figured I'd talk to this guy, upon our first conversation I discovered that unlike everyone else he had actually read my profile, not just "checked me out". After a couple of weeks of IMing back and forth I decided that he was genuine, and gave him my number when he asked for it. We talked all weekend and when he got back from his vacation, he came to my house and picked me up. It was an instant thing and I knew that I had met the man I will spend the rest of my life with. I met my soul mate on Yahoo personals, and he proposed on 11-04-05 at 12:32:42 PM, on IM, I said yes at 12:35:38 PM because I didn't think he was serious at first!! 3 whole minutes seemed like a lifetime! All I have to say is anything with dating/relationships is hard...but don't give up, the right person is out there, whether on Yahoo Personals, another online site or maybe right next door....good luck to you all and God Bless!

My experience with Yahoo! is probably more anecdotal. That's because I think the reason my profile is now in the rejected state ( not appearing ), is that the powers that be can't believe I'm in my fiftieth year of life and have to be lying about my glancing, and peripherally artistic description of why I've never consummated any intimate relationship. The good thing is that though I'm not spiteful, I see it as an opportunity to litigate. Even if it got to small claims court, I would write the local or regional newspapers to try to get someone to make Yahoo! customer service actually take what they do seriously. And I just know anyone who has clicked on this site has probably had problems with the non-existent people there, too. Let's face it, if these people were experts at promulgating romance, they would leave so much more of the creation of peoples' profiles more up to the users; and maybe offer more relevant ways to authenticate the veracity of dater's identities and bona fides.

My review of Yahoo is like this. Yahoo worked for me. Within a month of joining I met a person who was going to be divorced soon. Yahoo states that married individuals should not use their site. But what the hell. After sending out 100+ e-mails to various women thats all I could find who actually agreed to meet me. Well as we got to know each other better she was going to go thru with this thing and I never pushed the issue. This is my fault. Needless to say I wasted 2 years of my life on this person. Thats my fault not Yahoo,s And I am not laaying blame on them here. I never paid any attention to the time that was involved in this go nowhere relationship. I feel that I do not need to go into all the little minor details but things ended very dismally for me. They are still "married" I am still single . I wished I had never met this person. All I can tell you from experiance is be aware of where things are going. If they are going nowhere. Re evalute your situation. Don,t waste two years of your life like I did. I am 48 years old and I do not have all that much time to throw around. Thanks! Good luck.

Many fake ads and they are easy to spot...all have very attractive women with short, nonsensical profiles of one small paragraph...some even are written in broken English, like some guy in India is sitting there writing them, pretending to be a white girl.

I sent about 200 e-mails and only got about three back...granted I am not a good looking guy, but I wonder how many never were delivered because they were fake profiles to begin with.

Yahoo! Personals is full of fake profiles. And it makes me feel that they've supporting that in some ways. There's no response for complaints about the issue.

Yahoo Personals is by far the worst personals site I've used. I would strongly advise people to find an alternative, if for no other reason than because if you ever have a problem, there is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I have encountered bad customer service before, but never ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE like I experienced at Yahoo. After a few weeks without a response, I had to look up other Yahoo company email addresses on Google and see if they could help. They managed to get customer service to respond to me with one brief email and that's it. All that time I was paying $20 per month and had been for some time. Yahoo does NOT understand how to treat customers. Aside from that, the pool of people on Yahoo seems a little less interesting and a little more timid about responding than the pool at some other services. It seems like a lot of the people there are just window shoppers or after a little extra fawning. As compared to some other sites, people at Yahoo will more often respond with pre-made text snippets like "Thanks! I liked your message." It makes the whole experience a lot less fulfilling. The user interface is also behind the curve, and the profile review staff at Yahoo Personals will reject profiles seemingly at random, whether or not they violate the printed Yahoo guidelines. And they will never explain further, since there is no customer service.

Overall, I see no reason to even consider using this service. There are far better choices out there. (Basically, all of the others I've tried are better.)

After this experience with Yahoo Personals, I am even reconsidering using other Yahoo services. I don't need perfect customer service, but I at least need a company to acknowledge that I exist.
