Reviews of Yahoo! Personals

I signed up for Yahoo personals in early 2005 after being out of a disasterous relationship for a few months. I was a little hesitant, but due to my geographical location, I figured I wasn't going to meet someone any other way. In March, I contacted a man who had an interesting profile. We emailed and talked on the telephone for a few weeks. We met on April 16, 2005 and have been together ever since. I always thought love at first sight was a bunch of hogwash, but now I think differently. We were married a few weeks ago. We lived about 140 miles apart and probably would never have found each other if it weren't for Yahoo Personals.

I was very skeptical at first and basically posted my profile on the site to satisfy my curiosity. I consider my profile to have been warmly received and had contact with some wonderful ladies before I sent an Icebreaker to "The One". I was lucky that she replied, and we then emailed frequently before deciding to meet, which proved that we had a real connection with each other. We both consider the timing to have been just right and might not have met had it not been for Yahoo personals. Thank You for providing a way to find my soulmate.

I must say I agree with CT,isnt it strange (or maybe not)that were almost into the new year,a busy time for recruiting new online dating customers,and we begin find positive reviews on the site.I have been a bit of lurker on here for some time I admit, but clearly,along with some trolls looking for a reaction or flame,there are fake reviews being posted.To any newcomer to the reviews,please,read back to more historic reviews for enlightenment.

I am rating Yahoo Personals as a 5 star because they deserve it! I was a pesimist about this entire dating online thing until I went to Yahoo (and so was my husband). I had tried another website & was very disappointed. But, I decided not to be so bitter & give it one more try with Yahoo. I have found my soulmate, we are very happy and can't wait to see what life brings us over our lifetime together. And for those of you who are questioning the authenticity of these reviews....don't be so bitter, give it a shot! You never know what you may find. It doesn't always happen right away, but eventual, I believe that people find their match on Yahoo!!! I know several married couples that have met online, and many of them through Yahoo Personals. So when I say Thank You Yahoo!, its all in good taste & fun!!! If it wasn't for Yahoo, I'd still be out there wondering around, looking for Mr. Right....and I was about to give up (didn't think he existed)!!!

I find it curious how all of the sudden a bunch of 5 star reviews pop up on here within a few days.Notice how they all end with a "thank you Yahoo personals" or something to that effect,and are almost the same length.Also,alot of the sentence structures are very similar.Could it be that the Yahoo profile bot has made it onto this site also?If those are actually real,then I'm happy for all of you,and good luck!

I was a Yahoo personals subscriber, I was skeptical if this would really work and what kind of person would I meet on the internet....Well my doubts were put to rest as I met a wonderful girl named Jan....we wrote to each other and talked on the phone quite a few times (including an 8 hour phone conversation!!!). We learned a lot about each other and felt very comfortable, we decided to meet in person on Nov 25th 2006....Our date together was 14 hours long and we didn't want it to end.. It was like we knew each other for years the way that we "clicked". and we are together at this moment writing this .... Without yahoo personals, we may have never crossed paths, and I am very greatful that I was able to meet someone very special that has become a very important part of my life....Thank you Yahoo for Bringing Jan into my life.....Tommy

Recently divorced, I figured that at my age, I would have a hard time meeting someone to share my life with. After much soul-searching, I decided to sign up for Yahoo Personals on June 11, 2006. I submitted my profile and a photo, and set up my dating criteria. I had 19 "must haves" and it was suggested that if I broadened my search a little, I might have more success. I decided that I was not desperate, so I left all the requests in place. On my first search, a profile popped up that matched 5 hearts, and sounded too good to be true. However, I decided to email him and he responded pretty quickly. We spent the next day, Monday, corresponding and decided to meet at Barnes and Noble on Tuesday, June 13th after work. When he walked across the parking lot toward my car with a handful of home-grown roses, I was practically a goner! We spent the evening having dinner and walking on the beach. We made plans for a picnic 2 days later, and, with the exception of the time he went home for family reunion, we have been inseparable! As a matter of fact, 6 months to the day from our first communication, on November 11, 2006, we were married. We have so much in common, and enjoy each other's company so much. Here's the ironic things about our "relationship: " 1. For 5 years, we lived less than a mile apart. 2. Our children were in middle school together and his daughter's best friend had a serious crush on my son 3. Our grandchildren and nieces and nephews share several of the same names

My only regret is that I signed up for 3 months of Yahoo Personals and only really needed 1 day! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for providing a place for people to get to know each other. Your service eliminates the first 6 weeks of dating because you already know a lot about the person when you meet them! I found it a completely safe way to learn about people, and if you are as cautious as you would be meeting someone in any other situation, it can be a completely rewarding experience, even if you aren't as lucky as we were!

I have had a profile on yahoo personals for two years. Never responding to anyone untill a few months ago. I finaly did become a member and was able to email others. I sent an icebreaker to Rick and he sent one to me. We then began to email each other and wow, he is the perfect man for me. I have a friend who is afraid of internet dating but it opens a door to you and allows you to see and possibly meet so many different people. Sure they are not all going to be for you. But I have met several nice people on different dating websites and I assure you that it can be safe and you can find someone wonderful. My favorite meeting place was Star Bucks. Rick and I will be married in February and I am sure that he is the perfect man for me. I totally think that yahoo persoanls is wonderful and I would have never met him with out it. I had been on yahoo personals a year ago and had met a few very kind men, I moved from the coast after Katrina back here to California to be near my sister and son. She encouraged me and paid for another month on yahoo personals after seeing Jeff's profile, he lived 5 minutes away. I was afraid after being in failed marriages and a long term relationship. After messaging a few times via personals, we met for dinner at the nearby Chili's Reataurant. We both left that date longing for more,He literally swept me off my feet, He proposed to me on 12-03-06, and I said Yes. So yes online dating can be frightening, but just remember to meet in public places @ first, who knows, if you don't, you could me missing the one true person GOD put on this earth just for you, Jeff and I were one of the Lucky ones. Don't overlook the possibility of finally being truly happy with someone.

Following two failed marriages and a disastrous reentry into the 'dating scene' at the age of 43, I had given up on finding "Mr Right" or anyone close to Prince Charming. I signed up for the Free Yahoo Personals just to see what was 'out there' at my age and in this area. I had no idea at the time that was to be the beginning of my fairy tale.

I was contacted by a paid Yahoo Personals member who felt that our profile were a perfect match. I subscribed to the paid service just to have the ability to email him back. That was truly the best $25.00 ever spent! "Tim Looking for His Faith" - Kyle - is an amazing man that has quickly become my soulmate and Prince Charming.

I stopped believing in love at first sight and fairy tale romances a long time ago; thanks to Yahoo Personals! and Kyle, I am not only believing it, I am living it!
