I signed up for the 14day free trial, canceled on day 12 or so, lady offered me 30 days free, i said in plain english

WILL MY ACCOUNT BE ACTIVE FOR THOSE #) DAYS AND THEN ON DAY #! BE CANCELED AND I WONT BE CHARGED

I am lazy and didnt feel like having to call AGAIN in 30 days

she said "yes it will all be taken care of"

so i've been charged twice now, OH they let you cancel online now, no more having to call.

So i call, their 52 dollar charge has made my account go in the negative, I call they say they will refund the 50, 3 days later, no refund, AND NOW I HAVE AN OVERDRAFT FEE

grrr

Oh well, atleast i met my girlfriend on there

They don't deserve one star, but the system won't let me choose a lower option.

Aside from being profligate spammers and sending misleading information their latest tactic sinks to new depths and is fraudulent.

My account has been suspended for over a year, they sent me an email saying I should click to read my new messages. Based on a click on a link in their email message & a login window my account was re-activated and billed. No mention of confirmation or rates etc, we're talking a link from my own inbox. Realizing what had happened I tried to immediately cancel this, but the online form only let me suspend billing according to TRUE. So after immediately "suspending" my account I got billed anyway a few days later. The final insult of course is that there were no new messages, it was all a ruse to get me to click & reactivate.

I called when I saw the billing and their phone reps just gave me the runaround despite the obvious fraud. They claim that I needed to cancel by phone and that not using the service is no excuse, that they provided a service just by having the website available, they have customer dissatisfaction down to a fine art, their responses are practiced, immoral and will only frustrate. Ultimately I'll get a refund from my credit card company by disputing the transaction but this is the sleaziest online billing experience I've had in a long time.

My 2 stars might go to negative. I'm still green. I’ve been on TRUE for about 10 days now. I am not getting many real responses to my winks & emails & even when returning supposed winks. I am seeing though that many of the winks I receive must be false, just randomly generated from profiles of people who didn’t post, just using random pictures set up by the company as a front to encourage people to sign up within the first 7 days. The scam here doesn’t seem to be like the one on AFF, which is for the people posting pics of hot women, to get commission by referring you to web sites. I figure I’m already in for the month, so I’ll play the numbers game & see what women are real. For women using this, it might be fine. I don’t see why there would be fake guys here, when plenty will voluntarily join. Although each woman will be suspect as actually existing. After reading the previous reviews, I see the hard part is canceling & staying out of the automatic billing. I just went to the bank today to take care of any future billing. They couldn’t block payment on anything, so I just closed my account & re-opened one. It didn’t cost anything, but time. And now I have to re-submit my payment info for certain bills. I have to do that about once a year for various reasons. I suggest everybody do that occasionally for bank security. There’s many subscriptions 7 such that use automatic re-billing without obvious knowledge.

I've had True try to scam me also. Long story short, I told them I was going to dispute the credit card charges. This didn't seem to concern True's serviceperson. I followed through and filed a dispute claim with my bank (Visa). It took about 4 weeks to resolve, but I got a complete refund to my Visa. Others on this page recommended filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau and Federal Trade Commission. I did both, and neither one replied back. Your best bet is just dispute the credit card charges.

Please let me know if you have got anything started on a lawsuit because this is a complete scam.

After cancelling my 3 day membership a pop up window came in stating that I could continue my services for free if I click on agree. A couple of weeks later I noticed that I was charged. Thinking it was a mistake I called them and asked for a refund. They stated that I agreed to "suspend" my billing. I then told them that I "cancelled" and was offered to continue services for free. I then raised the question "In the act of CANCELLING my membership why would I agree to merely SUSPEND my billing for 7 days instead". They then said it is in the "terms and conditions". You cannot state that something is FREE and then hide behind your "terms and conditions" when you want to rip people off.

They then said 1/2 would be refunded like they are doing me a favor. Well guess what that is not enough I told them. I never agreed to pay fees. They further try to shut me up by refunding a whopping 39.99 instead. Thus leaving me with 9.99 plus an additional .99 for a service set up. It might sound like I am making a big deal out of nothing but who knows how many people have been taken for a ride. They are making a killing scamming people. A website, unlike a regular busines, does not cost that much to run once it is up. There is no inventory, just small storage/domain fees, and pay your customer service reps to talk people into believing they are not getting ripped off. TOTAL SCAM AND THEY NEED TO GO DOWN. I AM WILLING TO TAKE THE LEAD IF YOU DONT. --Charles Ochoa ochoa.charles@gmail.com

I argued my way to 11.99, but I have spent the last couple of hours on the phone or trying to get my money back. I will continue to waste more time on this mess and deserve to be compensated. Please let me know if I can be part of a civil suit. This is no right.

I did not have the problems cancelling that some other people apparently did. I called customer service a few days ago, told them that I did not want to continue my subscription past my 7-day trial, and they agreed to my request without any arguing. And my card has not been charged on the date that billing was scheduled to begin. I was impressed actually. And regarding the e-mails with links that will reactive your subscription if you've cancelled: like it or not, if it says in the e-mail that clicking on the link will reactivate your subscription, and you click on it, you're responsible. Right or wrong, that's just the way it is. I've gotten a couple of those e-mails, and since it clearly says that my subscription will be reactivated once the link is clicked, I've deleted them.

Having said that, I do have some problems with this site. First, as many people have noted, the "winks" are very suspicious. I would say that many, if not most of the "winks" on true.com are not authentic. For example, I got 5 replies from ladies who I never winked at or e-mailed. So how do I know that the nearly 50 winks I received were real? Whether True is actually paying people to send out fake "winks" and/or e-mails, or if there's just some bugs in their system, their site has largely lost credibility due to this issue. In addition, I think that many of True's ads are blatantly exploitative; they just show a bunch of T&A. Finally, they advertise that they're endorsed by Psychology Today. I went to Psychology Today's website, and I could find nothing on true.com. Which begs the question: is it a scientific or commercial endorsement?

I've had the same experience with trying to cancel. Even after I cancelled a few months later I went on to check winks and now and surprisingly charged with $49.99. I avoided every trick they used to bait you into clicking 'yes' but I noticed that not all of the mouseovers are authentic. Clicking anywhere on the screen may authorize you.

If anyone can get a videoclip of this being true and them charging you even when you hit cancel or no please get it on video. Let's do the right thing and take them down.

Well I see I am not alone. Signed up for a free 3 or 7 day trial in August- can't remember exactly. Called to cancel on last day, and they offered me 30 days more for free. Figured what the hell, I'd check it out a little more. I think I fell for their wink scam. Anyways, cancelled it at about day 25-30. Got really busy with school and didn't give it another thought. Well I was just looking through my most recent credit card statement and saw this $49.99 charge from them. I looked back at prior statements and sure enough, I have charges back to September. I called them to have them return the money, and they basically stone walled me. They claim that I reactivated in September. I'm not sure what happened. They mentioned something about clicking an email or something. What I do know though, is that I did not rejoin, and I am looking at $150 in bogus charges. They "graciously" offered me $24.99 back when I got upset with them on the phone. Well needless to say, we are in dispute with credit card company right now. If you are reading this you are probably considering joining this site. I'd reconsider.

These people suck, and so does this site. I experienced the same thing everyone else that has posted here has. They rip you off, tell you you reactivated your account when you reall didn't, and keep charging you even after they say your account has been deleted. I have filed with the FTC and the BBB in Texas, as well as put a dispute out on my card. I am waiting to hear back. Does anyone hear plan to start a lawsuit, and what's involved?
