This review is of adultfriendfinder. Simply put, you won't see results as a straight guy. I tried the silver membership so that I could read people's profiles and tried sending a good amount of emails as well as a lot of time in the chat room (which is probably your best, and only chance of actually meeting anyone on there).

Here are some stats on adultfriendfinder (numbers are roughly estimated based on what i've seen): a male/female ratio of around 50:1. Nearly all emails you receive will be from gay guys or trannies.

of the women: 98+% of the highly attractive ones are fake porno-type scams (but they are fairly easy to spot). 60+% of the attractive ones are only there for other women. 50+% are significantly overweight. 20+% have multiple profile. 75+% don't have any pictures in their profiles. 90+% don't pay for membership.

To sum it up, this means the amount of REAL STRAIGHT WOMEN is very small. Of that amount, many are really unattractive (although I don't think that would stop most of the guys there!). Of those women, many have ridiculous standards due to the ratio and constant attention from men. Lastly, I talked to a lot of women who I had trouble distinguishing what gender they were in their pictures! I think I am happy to say I never met up with anyone!

I signed up and then removed my profile a week later. The men on this site were simply scary. Not only did I not want to meet them, I didn't even want to exchange e-mails with them! Plus, in spite of the fact that the site says "join for free," they make it very difficult to do anything without paying. Every time I would click from one page to another, I would get the "Join now" window popping up. If zero stars was a choice, I wouldn't have given it one star.

I wish I could give this site a SUB-ZERO, but one is the minimum number of stars.

I really feel the one or two supporters of this site are plants (shills) for the dating site. Their opinions just don't bear out the reality of the situation, and just how bad things really are.

Notice how nearly everyone rates this site near the bottom of the gutter. That's because it truly sucks hard.

It's BETTER in my opinion to meet a woman in a bar IN THIS CASE, than to try to meet someone on this site.

At least you can talk to a woman in a bar. You seem to have less than a 1 in 100 chance on that site that any of the women are sincere (not operating their own porn sites, or even worse - men operating porn sites pretending to be women).

So far in almost a month, I've been hit on by two homos and my profile clearly states I'm only looking for women. The rating for this site in my opinion should be sub-zero across the board. It's an utter waste of time, money and your emotions.

I have been a friendfinder member for about 2 years. In that time I have met many women, and slept with 4 of them. I have had good sex, multiple times, with women from the site. I dont have a huge cock, I am not in great shape, etc. Could it be that theguys who are striking out, simply don't have any rap whatsoever? So for about $200 per year, I've been getting laid steady. Less than I used to spend at strip clubs for a blow job in the back. Im a huge supporter.

This site gets 11 more stars than it deserves. It is the site that taught the other internet dating sites how to run their scams. It has a foreign owner that hires workers in other countries to post and manage false profiles and keep guys baited. At least it gives a lot of stupid desperado nerds what they deserve.

I am so not impressed. Their kinky niche sex site must be taking away all their business. Response rate totally sucked ass. Once again I am not from a leper colony or anything. I've taken my profile down so there's no point in anyone checking me out. I never sent one penny, just testing them out, but in two months-zip,zero,nada. That's as a standard member, still, not good. Compared to what I got on the sex site. On AdultFriendFinder, popularity out the yin-yang.That tells you how society is,huh? In addition, they seem to bait their members. On the sex site, I got like four notices that a so-and-so is interested-it was the same guy every time. I got hardly any fun outside the cyber-realm until I ponied up and became a silver member.It's rigged so basically you are stuck with the dregs if you think you can freeload on a FriendFinder site. Long story short. Friend finder sucks b/c their niche adult site is taking away all hteir business.

There is only one word to describe FriendFinder and all of its spinoffs - SCAM.

Lets look at the facts:

On AdultFriendFinder there are more female profiles than male - does that ring true?

Now to view messages or full profiles you have to PAY. Register on the site and Lo and behold you will be told you have messages waiting. Pay up and you will read said messages. Enjoy reading because they are the last messages you will recieve. Its simply bait to get your CC details.

So now look up profiles. Notice the similarity in grammar and spelling of all profiles. Spooky.

Notice how USA profiles often spell words with English spelling, and vice-versa. eg Color / Colour etc.

Look at Chinese or Russian profiles - wow!! hardly any spelling mistakes except the laughably purposeful ones that Friendfinder staff insert half way through the profile.

Now log onto the chat rooms - the female profiles you find chatting are stooges. Look up their profile see where they are supposed to be from then go back to chat and ask them anything about their home town. They wont know anything about where they live. Hmmmmm

The biggest givaway perhaps, is that just before your subscription runs out you suddenly will recieve a load of messages where you had NONE for the previous month.

Now check your credit card - you will have been billed triple sums which you did not authorise. At this point the only thing to do is CANCEL YOUR CARD. If not they will keep debiting you to the end of time, even if you chose non-recurring billing.

Having cancelled your card now register again under a different email and view the few profiles you will be allowed to before a fresh demand for credit card details. Quelle surprise - totally new profiles.

FriendFinder / AdultFriendFinder / IndianFriendFinder / etc etc etc (there are loads of them) are all SCAMS.

Do not waste your money.

I have been registered on this site for about 4 months, I paid for silver membership- You can do nothing really without paying- previous comments are accurate in the sense that women just need put up a profile and sit back and wait for the inevitable flood of responses from male members. The servers are a bit slow at times, and there are a large number of fakes, as i suppose with any dating site. That said I have met a couple of really nice women, and had nice dates that resulted in no strings fun- which is what we both wanted. There are "Queen Bees" women who are very active in chat etc and they know how to work the men very well. I avoid them as they are generally insincere. I have been solicited by two prostitutes who i reported to the site and their profiles were removed within 24 hrs- this was re-assuring. Overall i would say it works well to a point. I find honesty works well and seems to stand out from the crowd, I am bewildered by the amount of guys who put pictures of their manhood up, but whatever. One big frustration is the amount of bisexual and lesbian women who return in searches and "cupid matches" but this is Ireland in the 21st century. You have to realise that Ireland was a very sexually supressed society until recent years and Adult Friend Finder works well as a way to express your sexual desires and hook up with like minded people- its better than the Pub.

I just discovered FriendFinder=Fast Cupid, (and apparently a whole host of other pseudonymns), so I'm posting this review here. Simply switch FriendFinder for Fast Cupid, and all is relevant.

Well, the SpringStreet merger/take over by Fast Cupid is complete. I'm sure others are experiencing the horror that I am.

SpringStreet may have been a small player in the dating service game, but I will concur with those who voiced it's merits. SpringsStreet's profiles were more original and ultimately informative than the fluff on most sights. SpringStreet, through it's many partners, also drew in a distinctly 'hipper' crowd than other sites I've seen. Best of all, SpringStreet offered a pay as you go service, using a credit system to use features like chat or sending messages. ALL users had the same functionality and ability to look at profiles, and you simply paid when you wanted to talk. No monthly fees, no teases with pictures you can't view or profiles you can't read.

Fast Cupid is the antithesis of all that SpringStreet was. "standard" users have almost no functionality. They cannot see pictures. They cannot send messages. And from what I can tell, premium members can't send messages to standard members unless they pay for an additional service. Monthly fees are high, and when you really look under the covers, there's not enough to justify the cost. For example, it may appear that there are a lot of users on Fast Cupid, but it's quickly apparent that only a very small percentage are premium members. Thus, if you plunk down your nickels and buy a premium service, you will still be hindered by their limitations and will only effectively be communicating with the few other premium members.

Worst of all, Fast Cupid has lost all of my most recent messages I had received under SpringStreet. Lost contacts, lost details, with no way to re-contact those other members because of the limitations of a standard membership. Furthermore, my profile has been in pending status since the change. No one can see ME, so I can't even hide a message in my profile with outside contact info.

Fast Cupid customer service does not respond. Fast Cupid quite openly states that premium members get preferential treatment, (faster customer service response, they call it). Obviously, they don't even want to address their failures until you've paid them.

Yes, online dating is a business, and they're in it for the money. But no other service is so blatantly interested in getting your money, with little care about finding you a date.

Stay away, avoid, ANY service using the Fast Cupid engine. There are better services out there.

If anyone has suggestions for an online dating service similiar to the now defunct SpringStreet, please post here.

Like most subscription services, FriendFinder and it's cousins is a site for attractive women willing to post a photo. For everyone else, it's a waste of time. The new profile of a woman with photo will get dozens, perhaps hundreds of e-mails. Of course, most of these men will not have read her profile. :)

On a slightly different note, I'd like to see a web "service" that is set up to put you in touch with another member, although neither of you is a subscriber. Here's the way it could work: I e-mail 'susan@unofficial.match.com', and that in turn goes thru a valid, paying account at Match.com (or whatever site you are on), and includes your personal e-mail address. You get in touch, and neither of you pays. Anyone want to touch this? :)
