I give yahoo a better rating than match for one simple reason,
they don't make any promises.
it is what it is!,a tool to help busy people meet.
or for shy people to make contact in a safer way that random chance in a bar or club.
I have had fewer dates from yahoo ,mostly due to lack of interest on my part,for a change I was the one being picky..
not that this was a good thing.match has done some damage to my confidence in on line dating,sadly yahoo hasn't been able to restore any of it.
other than my personal hangups
its not a bad site
And I haven't had one fake profile yet!
even the Russian chicks were almost honest about where they were from the very start of communications.

It’s really insulting to the few real women looking for a normal relationship. To see the odd normal photo among the come-hither mugshots of the pros!!

PLEASE try okcupid.com, it is genuine, lots more fun and has none of the sleazy feel of the YAHOO personals (it's like the classifieds of a cheap men's magazine). HORRIBLE!

Yahoo is for Asian hooker, Ukrainian husband scammers and, I think, underage nymphomaniacs.

OKCUPID.com so much better and fifty percent of these real women are good looking! I mean it! Had four dates in three weeks. All great looking and bright as heck.

Yahoo Personals doesn't deserve even the one star. This site's rating doesn't allow for zero stars. What's the problem? First, and foremost, the site is pitifully maintained and not updated. For instance, it recommends the use of Netscape Navigator. That browser hasn't been around for years.

Most importantly, instructions for doing simple things like removing people from your Favorites aren't valid. That is, it tells you to look for a certain button but the button doesn't exist. As a result, your Favorites list keeps growing and becomes unmanageable. Worse, the people you've favorited think you're still interested in them and wonder why you don't contact them. This results in too much confusion for everybody.

Gee, I really shouldn't be surprised by all the technical problems. Yahoo is owned by at&t and that's a company that knows nothing about keeping customers happy.

If you encounter any problems with Yahoo Personals, there's no way to get it resolved. You can try one of the contact links, but no one will ever respond.

Lastly, the membership of Yahoo Personals isn't anywhere close to any of the other services. I think this is mostly due to the technical issues. I won't be renewing my membership. In fact, I'm closing it long before the end of my subscription due to the frustration with the site.

If you want a better experience for a reasonable price, go to Match.com. The site is well managed and works like it should. Furthermore, there are far more members at Match.com and you'll meet far more matches.

I am so frustrated with yahoo personals right now. My subscription is about to expire and I want to cancel so it does not automatically renew itself on my credit card. I cannot find out how to cancel it. They tell me to go to my account information. No where on the page is there a tab to get to my account info. I've googled for instructions and again, after following the instructions, I get to a page that has no tabs where I can cancel this service.

I am at my wits end and for this reason, I do not recommend yahoo personals.

I agree with most of the reviews on the fact that there are alot of scammers on the site. However i did meet someone on the site and it is going very well. Alot of the girls on the site say they are from near you but then end up they moved to a foriegn country. Which is bull. I rated it 2 stars because i did find someone there. My best suggestion is to enter your info and make your profile searchable. Then try and catch the person online and IM them. The person i met tried to IM me but i missed it. We searched for each other for 2 or 3 weeks before we found each other. If you have enough info on them you can find their profile and connect. She hadnt paid for an account and it was hard to catch her online. But we finally found each other. If you do subscribe be very cautious and when i cancelled my account, since i was using paypal, i went to my paypal account and changed my billing info to yahoo from active to cancel. That way they cant force through the authorization in any way. I will say that it is possible to find someone on dating sites but be prepared to spend time and money. With the jobs i do and where i live i didnt have time or the places to really go and look for someone. It took me about 3 months and 100 bucks to find one true person to date. And believe me you have to weed out a 1000 fakes to find one thats true. Ends up we have more in common than i could ever think i would have with someone. Like i said it has gone very well and we are both glad we met each other. I dont think i would mind at all spending the rest of my life with her. Although i admit i never thought i would say that about someone i met online. It seems like the best people on these sites are the honest ones that tell you if your not into this or that then dont bother. I found out they pan out better than the sugar coated ones and if you arent meant for each other you find it out quickly and dont waste the time on it. Ask straight up front questions. Be polite and apologize for it but let them know you arent interested in a fake. If they are true it will continue if not you wont even get a reply. Also you can wait them out a week or so and if they are there for the wrong reason they will quit communicating cause they can make money by moving on to find someone they can sucker in. I did talk to about four tue people but we found out we werent right for each other. Honesty is best. Another thing that wouldnt hurt is to pray and trust your Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ to help you weed out the fakes. Good luck to you all and God Bless!

Ladies watch for this guy! his name is Adam Sedwick or ads_49@yahoo.com . He has a older picture up and they change often. he is a scammer!! he does just what everyone on here says. He is smooth and says his wife died and his parents died blah blah blah. It is sad that they prey on people with good hearts that would usually fall for this crap. He starts off slow then with in 7 days he want's money. I did report him and nothing happened.. so I figured let's put them on here and we can know what's up and check out the list.

Be cautious! I gave one star because I had no other choice. I can't believe how many scammers are on this site. I received multiple e-mails from men who had different photos but word for word identical profiles. They tend to say they are widows with children. I reported this to Yahoo as many ways as possible including profile IDs etc. and they haven't responded or removed the profiles. These "men" request communication thru their personal e-mails and then try to hook you in to how wonderful you are and how wonderful they are. Yikes! Always be alerted when the wording of their profile doesn't match how they are communicating to you. If it's sounds too good to be true it probably is.

My biggest gripe about Yahoo Personals is the amount of FAKE profiles on there. I live in Michigan and I get a ton of out-of-state emails with broken english asking me to email them for pics. It's usually something like "I am very much like to converse with you. Email me at (whatever) and I will send you more pics. I eagerly wait to speak of you soon."

First of all, if their profile can't make a normal sentence sound right then you should know right away it's fake. Second, if the pic is a supermodel, you should know it's a fake. I've been a paying member for about 2 weeks now and have received close to 10 of these emails, ranging from New York to Texas.

I do like how it shows when the regular people were last active and you can read their email and see who sent it to you without being a paying member, unlike Match that says "You have an email. We wont show you who sent it or what it says until you pay us."

Sad to say but there is a listing of a man from North Carolina he is listed as SML on yahoo personals (may have listings on other dating sites also) who is a troll (trolling for women) not interested in a relationship just sex and personal info. Goes from one woman to the next. Said he is divorced but he is not. Will try to get your personal information to get credit in your name. He will be very nice until he gets what he wants then his personality changes drastically. Uses credit cards like there is no tomorrow but doesnt make enough at his job (correctional officer) to pay them. Please, please be careful he may become violent.

Hi all, This is to get out a word of warning to any guy thinking about dating MICHELLE NICOLE DICKINSON from yahoo personals MESA AZ . The woman has STDS Genital herpes type two. According to her it has disappeared but if any of you know the truth it never goes away.
