Ok, they made me rate Yahoo with 1-5 stars, actually I would not give it any stars. All I get is totally hot Russian chicks, all of them interesred in me, ya right! Anyway I wish I would have done a little research and found this site, it might have saved me sixty dollars. I am so sick and fucking tired of asshole pricks in Russia that I have since decide to play along as long as I can. I now have a few I respond to and am receiving pictures and such, the whole time they are having to fly to Moscow to get there work Visas so they can come see me. I am now just waiting for the clencher, they need money to finish the journey. So to counter this I will inform them to wait at the nearest wire transfer station for the money, then when it does not show, I will tell them there was a problem and to wait there again for the money, ETC. Well needless to say there are a few real people on there but not enough to continue the mascarade. I signed up for Match.com and have had far better luck and have been on several dates, none have panned out but I do think Match watches for this type crap, and and are more serious about the bullshit.

Yahoo Personal is BAD. I've been on it for a year and there is nothing but scam. There was one time that a real woman was on and talk to me and we hit it off very well. She and I scheduled a meeting and we met at a bar. I was intimidated by her, because she was young and pretty. One thing led to another; we went to a hotel and make love. The next morning, she left and I’ve never heard from her again. Yahoo Personal is a scam and I feel used.

OK, I guess I am just echoing what has already been said. When I was on, I got about SIX (I lost count!!!) people who had profiles that were supposedly local and later claimed to be Nigerian missionaries!! One asked me for money and the rest, I didn't give a chance! THEN they were so bold as to get on yahoo chat with me! So instead of these scams being just a "bot", they are REAL people (54 year old man) typing back at me claiming to be a real woman!! I mean DAMN!! These vultures are getting more and more aggressive! I forwarded the complaint to yahoo and most of the profiles were removed! I got some instant notices of a "wink" or "ice breaker" and when I clicked on it, the profile had been already removed!!!

This site in a word....SUCKS!!! There are so many fake profiles; like when the picture has a brunette with brown eyes and the profile description says blonde and blue eyes. Whoever is writing these fake profiles does not have very good command of the English language either. Also, there seems to be alot of Asian and Russian profiles (if these are even real). It seems like a mail-order bride system if you ask me. I mostly have gotten hits from out-of-state women and 98% of them have been fake profiles and I stated I was looking for women within NYC!

This was my first introduction to on-line dating. I am so glad that I did not waste my hard earned money and get a membership. Why anyone would waste their time/money on any of these sites is beyond me. I highly doubt you are going to find your "soulmate".

I am recently seperated (not by choice) and if this is the way things look out there-NO THANKS!!! I am going to stick with my original plan and do my hardest to work things out with my wife.

I have sympathy for those ladies and gentlemen who are legit. Those fake profilers ruin it for everyone. I will stay far away from ANY on-line dating sites. No fan here.

Well, I am glad that I found this website so I can talk about my experience on Yahoo Personals. I had an account on it back in 2002. It was the first year I tried online dating. I met my 2nd and 3rd EX(s) on it ... including my fiance (soon to be dumped) right now. I had dated other different guys and I would say if I could go back in time ... I wouldn't have done that. Honestly speaking, most of them are losers. Maybe I am not lucky enough like other girls that they met the ONE without trouble ... or maybe I was young and I didn't know myself too well. Most of the guys are looking for sex, and some of them have some motives (all kind of crazy reasons) to get you to go out with them ... so if you really want to go out with any of them, please take your time ... I mean don't rush into anything they ask for. Make sure to listen to your heart ... if you don't feel right, more likely something isn't right about the situation. I heard others say eHarmony and match are good sites. Once I am back to single, I will give them a try. No more Yahoo Personals for me for sure!!!!!

If you want to make sure your out-of-state match is who they say they are before you spend all the $ to travel there, I would suggest checking out this company- they actually send a person to meet with your match, make sure their ID matches, take a current photo, then you receive a report completed with the current pictures for you. I copied the following from their website at www.wegolook.com

WeGoLook is an online service that provides visual confirmation and a personalized report, completed by a real person, to verify a product, person, place or thing. WeGoLook customers are better informed, avoid costly surprises, plus benefit from unbiased confirmation without having to travel.

WeGoLook will go look at autos, boats, cycles, homes, vacation rentals, eBay items, Craig's list items, Granny's grave, etc... they even go meet with your out-of-state online date to verify their ID and take a current photo before you spend all the money to go meet them in person. Oh and they even arrange transportation for your auto, boat, cycle and will deliver your eBay item to the shipper so the seller can't switch the item around. They are awesome

This site SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!im sure most unfortunate people who signed up have encountered a girls claiming to have lost there parents and be stuck in NIGERIA at a hotel room with a clerk that confiscated her passport and wont let her leave unless she pays the hotel dept she owes and here is where you poor reader starving for affection come in with your wallet, whatever you do STAY AWAY FROM SUCH PEOPLE!!!its not really for the membership prices or the fact that you cant send a single message unless you subscribe (which lets face it its smart) that earned this a bad rating but just the amount of scammers on this site (or maybe scammer with many profiles) im sure there are people smart enough to cut communication with anyone that seems "to good to be true" and winds up asking for money in the end but just in case your blinded by fake love promises keep in mind pictures can be copied from google and such and posted on yahoo personals by someone claiming to be them,in other words DONT TRUST ANYONE ON THIS SITE OR BE FOOLISH ENOUGH TO GIVE MONEY TO ANYONE THAT PROMISES LOVE,your better off just trying myspace or cell phone chat services such as airg aka hottalk or cooltalk, they are free.

Where to begin. Well, I just got out of a bad relationship and the whole dating scene just wasn't cutting it. At that point I didn't think I had anything to lose by giving it a try so I did. Wow, was it a mistake. Aside from the whole no response thing, I was almost caught up in a Nigerian check scam. Lucky for me I wasn't desperate enough to fall for it but who knows how many people did. From that point on, I knew there was no chance I'd renew the service. For those that actually made love connections, good for you, but I'm sure you're the exception and not the rule. BTW, stay away from eHarmony, chemistry and match while you're at it 'cause they're not any better. You'd probably have better luck looking on craigslist and it wouldn't cost a thing. Good luck.

Don't waste your money! Their "6-month promise" is just another way to scam you, they will find any reason at all not to refund your money!
I have had much better dates using Craigslist personals, and its free!

I agree with some that have posted on here that it is hard to find the area to cancel the automatic renewal of your membership. It is there though and I always find it and save the link before I commit to the final Submit button.
I have noticed some very interesting profiles for me and have seen them on Yahoo Personals for a few years. Wow whats up with that?
I am not a subscribing member but only join occasionally and then take advantage of the 3 day cancellation period.
I notice that when I do subscribe I get so many views and contacts from women, if they are women, that are way too young for me, whats up with that?
My profile is one that can be viewed by all at all times. So why is it that I only get these emails when I am subscribed?
There is one lady that would be so great for me and we match so well......I have contacted her a few times with no replies. Nothing! So I contacted her and said she was a FAKE.....No Response....
So I think there are more fakes and scamers in the younger age areas for sure.
