Visit Great Expectations

I have a friend who joined Great Expectations in St. Louis last year. She loves it. I must admit she has more quality dates than I do, but I do know she paid a lot for the service. She loves the fact that they do background checks on all of there people. I would love to sign up but unfortunately just cant afford it.

It looks great in theory, However there are very few people registered (I guess because of high costs when compared to EHarmony and Chemistry.com). If you were not born in the USA, forget it. Doesn’t really matter if you are a permanent resident or a legal Alien living in the United States – people you turn you down. I even got a call once from Great Expectations apparently because someone complained that I put the “wrong color” in profile. Totally racist thing. I am white, but apparently someone (who has no knowledge of geography) thinks I am middle-eastern type, and I have no ancestors from this area. My grand parents were from Italy and Sweden. They are very nice to you before you pay up and they also make a lot of promises to you like “nobody stays here for more than one year; a tall guy like you will find someone quickly” – but forget it. Once they charge your credit card, they are gone. You are own your own, and all they do is to publish your profile and make you take pictures with their own photographer. That’s it. Save your money and join either Eharmony or Chemistry.

Visit Great Expectations

I have had a good time with Great Expectations in Richmond so far. They have regular events and I am meeting women. It is not cheap to join but I am getting the results I want. Of course there could always be more members but at least the profiles seem to be real people. I think their internet platform could be better for the money. The staff seem okay and they are helpful.

Unfortunately I did not research before signing up. I would never recommend this company. At first they come very nice, but after you paid them, they disappear. I have called 7 times and they are yet to return my phone calls. Save your money and energy. They are unprofessional, rude and fake.

This company deserves less than one star. This service is amazingly expensive and does not deliver anything they promise you to get you to sign up. I was a member for about a year and I only met one other member. No where near the number of active participents as represented at sign up. Don't even bother trying to complain after you sign on the dotted line, all you will get is the cold shoulder, they don't even bother returning phone calls. Unfortunately, I did not do my research untill after I signed up and now I find out that this company is a joke from coast to coast. Nothing but complaints and lawsuits. How is it that these places haven't been shut down. Do not waste your time with Great Expectations, I have had better luck on FREE sites on the internet.

I just QUIT my job at Great Expectations in Summit, NJ. I could not spend another min. in that piece of shit place, but above all work for a low-class, ignorant, racist, CON-ARTIST ANYMORE!!!!!!!! To everyone who lives in the NJ/NY area, PLEASE BEWARE of this bullshit "dating service" as I know, first hand what it's like. Most of all beware of the evil blond lady who calls herself the office manager: SALLY LOUISE ARMENDINGER. But since she's been caught before for her deceitful ways, (news, internet, etc.) she goes as Sally A. She is in her 60's, and her life experience (though if you meet her she will tell you otherwise) includes being a drug addict in her prime- her "hippy" days- and an alcoholic the rest of her life. She has recently stopped drinking, as a very serious illness has forced her to, which is directly co-related to her "hippy" days. She has never been married and is born/raised in Florida. She has worked for the company over 10 years, and has worked at many of the locations nation wide. She is their BEST sales rep., their most prized possession, and as she has quoted, "I can sell a paraplegic a dating membership." She will bull shit ANY bullshitter just to get their MONEY!!! She will lie to you about ANYTHING you can fathom and over compliment you just to get you to like her and in turn BUY a membership. It saddens me that I spent the last year and a half there, wasting away as she had brought me down tremendously as a person. Day in and day out I was surrounded by lies and deceit, evil, scams, unhappiness, and the most ignorance I have ever encountered. DO NOT sign up for this. They will try and scam you right from the beginning getting you to fill out a singles form online, like "Over 40 Singles" or even right in your town singles, like "Summitsingles.com" or "myClarksingles.com." Once you fill the info. out where it asks you lots of personal questions, it is directly sent to their telemarketers where they contact you and try to act like your best friend and tell you that you NEED to start dating or that joining will "change your life!!!" If they get you in the door they will schmooze you till no end and try and take every last penny you got. Sally is crude, rude, and has no limits. Before I left, a lady was not interested in joining and ran out of the office. Before the door closed behind her, Sally yelled out, "No wonder your 40 and still single." These are the types of things she will say to you if you have the strength to walk away from this beast. The last thing she said to me, through TEXT might I add, was "Just glad you're gone, you UNTALENTED PSYCHO." I have saved this text and one day she'll get hers...

This company is a rip off. They take your money and do not feel any obligation to give you anything in return. I paid them $3500 and to my horror checked out the lawsuits and complaints online. I should have done my homework before I signed up. Don't let this happen to you. If you see their signs - SINGLE Datingin(your city).com ignore them or take them down. Their signs will read SINGLE? Datingin(Midwood).com or SINGLE? Datingin(Houston).com These websites will all point you back the local GE in your area. Do your city a public service take these signs down.

This company is filled with a bunch of used car salesman.

They operate in Fort Mill SC because South Carolina has no 'right of rescission' laws. These let you back out of a contract for a period of time - usually this is explained to you when you are signing a contract for a mortgage. GE was sued in I believe Texas and when that suit was settled GE lost because of the 'right of recission' law.

BRIEF INTRODUCTION Great Expectations requires individuals to come in for an interview and later for a personal video. I called their company because I was interested and found their staff to be cordial but they would not reveal the cost of the service over the phone. Instead they asked me first to come in for an interview. During my interview their service seemed to be decent, but when they finally revealed the costs, I was surprised. Here goes:

BASE PLANS $7000 - 15 month membership $8000 - 3 year membership $8500 - Unlimited membership until you find someone

DISCOUNTS -$2000 - If you opt out of national match making (only look at matches in your city) -$1000 - ONLY if you sign the contract on your interview date 50% off - For a 7 month trial membership only valid on that date

CHEAPEST PLANS YOU CAN GET (with discounts) $4000 - 15 month membership (only good on interview date) $2000 - 7 month membership (only good on interview date)

SUCCESS STATISTICS Furthermore, based on my questions I learned that they get 50 to 100 new members per month. Also, 2 of their members per month gets married (one man, one woman). Based on statistics that is between a 2% and 4% success rate (this site was meant for serious dating). That means at best you have a 1 in 25 chance of finding someone throughout your membership. All that for a few thousand dollars?

CONCLUSION If you are wealthy, this service may be good for you. But most people probably cannot afford it. So how do they get their membership? Through pushy and misleading tactics (they leave out information unless you ask). They put a lot of pressure on you to join. They are very good sales people. But my father taught me never to make a quick decision on a large sum of money. This saved me a few thousand dollars. When a company offers you to save you a thousand or more by joining today, it makes the decision process very difficult. Just be careful. Know what you are getting yourselves into.

I hope you find this review pretty revealing into the Great Expectations dating service.
