I, too, got taken in by eharmony's "reputation." I figured after all that junk they made me fill out, they must have some clue as to what I was looking for. I initially signed up for the free trial but got sucked into a paying membership because I wanted to see pictures. !!!! I was offered this great deal of only $19.99 a month but didn't realize that I would pay that for a YEAR and could not cancel membership before that. I have read the fine print now and see that you must cancel your membership within THREE days or you won't get any of your money back.

Now, I freely admit that I was a sucker. I should have done more research and not been taken in by such a great "deal." With that being said, none of my matches have been located anywhere near me; many haven't even been inside my age parameters. I quickly discovered that people know when you have "viewed" them so I stopped doing that; it just seemed really awkward. Like, "hey, I checked you out but I'm not at all interested so I'm not going to send you a smile or anything." I got several matches the first couple of days after becoming a paying member but haven't received anything since Nov. 20th. From the "profile updates" that I have seen, several of these gentlemen either a) can't spell or use correct grammar or b) all of a) plus a lack of knowledge about spell check. How on earth can eHarmony think that I would be interested in someone who is barely comprehensible on paper when they know SO MUCH about me?!?

All the ranting and raving aside, do your homework and don't sign up for something like this unless you know what you're getting into!
