A Review of eHarmonyWrite your own review of eHarmony! Reviewed By: Anne Location: Washington, D.C. Sex: Female Rating: ***** Date: August 11, 2010 I actually did not have a bad experience, despite being skeptical. I tried eharmony a few years ago and didn't put a lot of thought into the questionnaire and was a little nervous / embarassed about it all. I went on one date and it didn't work out so I gave up then. I wasn't really ready for it. However, last fall I was definitely at a different stage and a friend convinced me to give it another go. This time I was definitely a lot more open to it and took my time with the questionnaire. I found that my matches were more compatable this time around. I also found that, compared to two other sites I'd tried out, I felt that the people I communicated with were more serious. I agree that the site could be more clear about who is just on there for the free weekend, but I realized I needed to be patient. I communicated with several people, and even sent a few invitations to communicate myself. While I did have some interesting experiences when actually meeting in person with a few guys, I think I learned a lot about myself and what I was looking for. I met up with four different guys, two of whom I knew it wouldn't work with after the first date, although one of them convinced me to give it one more try. The third guy I didn't feel a big connection with, but the fourth guy was different. It was the best date I've ever been on. I told a few of my friends about it right after I got home. I've been dating him for the past nine months and couldn't be happier. I realize that maybe I was just lucky, and I definitely know it's not for everybody. I was nervous to tell my family that I met this great guy on Eharmony because I know what tehy think about online dating, but once they met him, they forgot about it entirely. Don't be afraid to give it a chance. |
