I signed up for 3 mths which ended on 3/13. Follow me here. On 1/13, I had the best date ever with a guy that winked at me first. We were supposed to get together again and even though he had texted me through out the day of our next date, he was a no call/no show and I never heard from him again. How odd is it that on the last paid day I'm on match, I get another wink with an e-mail asking me if I still want him to come over. It was exactly two months since our first date. I have to wonder if something or someone was keeping a timeline. Someone suggested to me that maybe this guy has a tickler file. Something tells me he's right. Personally, I'm beginning to think match hires people to send winks, go out on great first dates to talk and flirt (no sex though) then disappear for a while only to pop up again at the end of the time you signed up for to possibly encourage the other to re-up with match.

WARNING #1: If a guy only e-mails or texts but never actually contacts you by phone, that's a red flag.

WARNING #2: If a guy asks you to meet him in Boulder even though you've told him you live on the south side of Denver, that's a red flag.

WARNING #3: If a guy doesn't call to make sure you got home safely, even if there's not gonna be another date, that's a red flag.

I think there are other warnings. It sucks when your personal life is so boring you're willing to give these guys a try. I doubt I'll hear from this guy again even though I gave him my cell number so we wouldn't have to e-mail.

Oh! I too was IM'd by two guys that were scammers. One flat out told me he was on business in the Republic of Nigeria with his daughter. Abort! The other sounded similar. I think we texted but they couldn't actually call me "no phone card" whatever that means. Anyhow, I guess I was a bit naive and a friend straightened me out before anything happened.

I received a few winks but when I winked back with a short e-mail, those men disappeared, never to be heard from again. I think maybe they were decoys.

I'm glad I only parted with $60 for three months. I don't really want to meet a nice man this way but it sure appears all the nice men that I'd be interested in are married or gay.
