As a former GE employee I have nothing but love for this company. I worked for years in many different parts of the company - everything from phone sales to marketing manager , front desk, trade shows, direct matching etc. pretty much you name it I did it.
I have heard the squeaky wheels from bad experiences with Great Expectations. When I worked with these type of people MY experience was that 99% had gotten angry and decided all they wanted was their money back. They refused help and had made up their minds that they had been taken advantage of without ever being willing to actually TRY the service.
But in my job I also worked with MANY more people that I came to love like family. They called me to tell me how excited they were about people they were dating and ask for advice. One guy (who was a male model and banker - go figure!) came in and waited for my shift to start so he could tell me about his date. I helped people meet and had many marriages. One of sales reps let members wed on her beautiful boat. We had a wall of wedding invitations and cards with baby announcements.
When I talked to my phone sales reps each night we started out our meeting with the people who were having success that week. The 70 year olds who found out they belonged to the same country club and got married, the landscaper who found his perfect 10 massage therapist, I could go on and on. I loved that job. I miss it all the time - even the cranky poopers. What kept me going more than anything were the awful stories I heard when working trade shows. The woman who found her boyfriend was in the hospital and raced to his bedside to meet his WIFE - the single mom who found out her "match.com" was more interested in her little daughter. So buyers DO BEWARE! But remember Great Expectations has stayed in business all these years even with cheap internet competition that does nothing to verify ANY of the info given out by members. While they continue to meet face to face every person and screen them. Good luck to you all my you find love!
