I joined eHarmony, Chemistry.com and Match at the same time. Here are some things you should know about eHarmony before joining:

- eHarmony is primarily a Christian-based matching service and, apparently, I'm the only person who didn't know that. Most of my matches' profiles were heavy on the "christ is my savior" and "the lord's guidance" talk which also seemed to be the hot topic during the few dates I had. When I would tell friends they all told me eHarmony used to be exclusively a Christian matching site and laughed that I didn't know that. Nice, thanks.

- eHarmony is a "relationship" site NOT a "dating" site. I contacted customer support about a problem I was having and made the mistake of referring to eHarmony as a "dating site". Rather than an answer to my question I received a paragraph about how eHarmony is a "relationship" site, not a "dating" site.

- eHarmony puts very little weight on physical attraction - and it shows - from the fact that you have to subscribe to see photos to how they handle the matching process. Chemistry.com and Match.com allow you to see photos before subscribing.

SUMMARY: I did meet a few great girls on eHarmony and much prefer the process over Chemistry. The ONLY problem was the religious thing. I'm Catholic and do go to church occasionally but these girls were borderline obsessive. The majority of the conversations were about bible study and being saved.

Here's my down-and-dirty comparison of the 3 services from experience:
- eHarmony is great for ultra-religious people looking for marriage
- Chemistry is great for professional nerdy-types looking for marriage
- Match.com is great for hook-ups and rebounds
