I tried Eharmony for a few months in 2008. I recieved a list of 'matches', but few seemed compatible. I'm not a picky person, but nearly all of my matches had at least one thing that I listed as 'must not have'...things like distance, smoking, etc. The few I tried to contact never responded because they were no longer active on the site.

I had 1 day left in my subscription when I recieved several new matches. Those matches actually fit my description of what I was looking for. The hitch was: to email them, I would have to renew my subscription.

I felt it was a complete rip off. They should be up front about which profiles are still 'active'. They should allow you to browse profiles. I would recommend nearly any other dating website over eharmony.
