I went to a HurryDate last week and while there should have been 10 men, only 5 showed. Clearly, after reading all these posts about cancellations they decided to go through with the event. Even though I matched with 2 out of 5 men, neither of them chose to return my emails. I can't blame that on HurryDate. People need to understand that if they do not get people to sign up they can not have an event. A lot of times, people sign up and then get caught up in a family situation or their boss demands their attendance at a meeting and that person needs to cancel. This is not fair to the people showing up at the event. I do not agree you have the right to reimbursement. I simply do not believe HurryDate canceled and refused a reimbursement, unless that is clearly stated in the "fine print." Read the fine print and stop bad mouthing an event intended for fun. Going out and meeting people by hanging out in a bar, or the old fashioned matchmaking doesn't work for everyone. Simply hanging at the bar like a lowlife just makes you a drunk lonely single person. As for asking friends.... no one wants to get involved because if it works out you love your friend and if it doesn't you blame the friend. It is a sticky situation no matter the case. Dating sucks always has sucked, but yet a necessary step to committment. Do what is good for you, not what is good for the people who had sucky situations. Just my 2 cents.
