Ok it's my turn. I don't usually do website reviews but after reading
1-50 (of 1622) reviews of eharmany I guess it's time to put in my
2 cents worth. Out of those 50 I think I only read about 5 that had
positive outcomes for themselves or a friend. That is only 10%, not
good odds when you have to pay out hard earned money in an atmosphere of an economic crisis. My own experience with eHarmony
is very recent and apparently going to be very short. It started a few
weeks ago since I had given up on my relationship with my long time
on again/ off again guy. I had seen and heard about eHarmony for
years and had the impression it was a wonderful site, everyone is
matched perfectly, scientifically, and that most end up finding their
life partner, soul mate, and get married. I even saw the founder on
Robert Schuller's "Hour of Power" a few years ago. How could I go
wrong? Especially since I am leary about internet dating to begin
with. So I decided to give eHarmony a try, after I got no
response at all from a Christian dating service, "Equally Yoked".

I started filling out my profile information and was giving my answers
a lot of thought but I was too tired to fill it all out at one time so I hit
the button that said "save and exit" to return at a later time when I
felt like I could answer better. The next day I was emailed reminders
to finish my profile and to post a photo. I also had matches already
based on the partial profile that I saved! How can that be? Also I am
new to digital photo. and I am usually behind the camera and not in
front so the most recent photo I have is about 2 years old (sorry for all of you who think you must see a photo immediately but sometimes there is a reason). I learned that eHarmony had a 4-day free period
coming up on Valentines weekend so I thought I would finish my profile
and see what happens. The first "match" was someone who closed
immediately because he was in another relationship, so why didn't
eHarmony know this? Other matches were too old, almost my father's
age, 12 inches taller than me or some other mismatch. Two or three
did request a photo, and one who I think could be a match intiated
contact with the "5 questions" and didn't ask for a photo. I emailed my answers to his 5 questions and sent my 5 questions and waited for his response. Then the free weekend was over. I got an email from eHarmony 2 days later, after the free weekend was over, that my match had sent his answers but in order to see his answers I must
become a paid subscriber. Over the week I had been trying to decide if I wanted to pay such a high price for a dating service when
I was already disappointed in their "service". I found promotional codes for discount subscriptions but then I saw they do an automatic
renewal at the end of your subscription, that's not right either. So
I started doing on line research of eHarmony and saw only glowing reports, this sounds too good to be true, I thought someone has to
have a bad experienc. Then I ran across these reviews. Thank goodness I did! I think it saved me a lot of money. Maybe with a lot of time and a lot of patience and a lot of trust that people will be honest with their profiles, eHarmony will work for 10% of the people,
but for the other 90% of us maybe we should start up our own dating
site with what we learned :). I have to give eHarmony 2 stars though
for the Personality Profile I got, most of it it I think is right on, but some of it is too general to be written for me personally, and I think on a different day if I felt in a different mood with different answers
then my profile would change. Not very scientific at all.
