I just rejoined eHarmony (although I should have known better) after a couple year hiatus. I remember now why I thought it was a useless site for women like me. (And wish I'd found this site earlier.) There's no way to filter out men who simply are not compatible, educationally or on other basic levels. I'm a politically moderate, non-practicing attorney and private investor who divides my time between the States and Europe. In what world am I going to be a match for a very conservative policeman whose dream is to retire to a Texas ranch? I'm not into organized religion; Jesus and church activities top his lists. He's certainly entitled to his life choices, but how are we possibly "compatible on 29 dimensions" or whatever the spiel is? It's a race to see which one of us closes the match first. I'm pretty much resigned to wading through and closing a slew of not-even-close matches over the next 3 months. No fun. Thank goodness I didn't sign up for a longer stint. If someone knows of a good sight for a more professional group of (non-Ivy League) people, I'd love to hear about it.
