A Review of Match.comWrite your own review of Match.com! Reviewed By: Leo Location: Southern California Sex: Male Rating: ***** Date: August 16, 2008 My experience mirrors that of most of the others from the guys on here. In the real world I've had no trouble getting attention from women, and after a year of getting plenty of views on my free account at Match.com, I decided to finally pay for a subscription. What really prompted me to subscribe, was the discovery of a girl at work (diff dept) who was on there. She seemed like she was interested when she saw me at work, so I thought I had it made - here was an easy way to get to know her. And the night she showed up on Match.com, she showed up in my 'who's viewed me' list. So I composed a really nice message and sent it off. Three days later I get a response. But it was very flat, and emotionless. I responded back, but that was the end of it. I couldn't figure out why - everyone who saw my profile said it was well written with great pictures. The only thing I found to explain it, in her profile she listed her match making $75-100K. I'm making around $70K, which fell below the cutoff Match.com uses. I'm just not one to lie, since I did indeed fall into the $50-$75 range. After that I went on to contact dozens of other girls, but not one responded, including many who had viewed me. After two months of this I've had enough. With a month left on my 3 month membership, I canceled my subscription. I did it via their website (they give you a confirmation page/number). But before doing that, I changed my credit card number to a one-use one with a $5 limit (my CC company provides that service), just to be safe. In the suggestion box for how they could improve their service, I suggested finding a way to improve the male/female ratios :) |
