A Review of eHarmonyWrite your own review of eHarmony! Reviewed By: Suz Location: Calif Sex: Female Rating: ***** Date: June 08, 2008 Though I find the eharmony advertisement on tv a little much, I decided to give them a try. I protected myself however by arranging to just try it for 3 months per their special at the time, without an automatic renewal. I had to request this. I still have a little while remaining on my 3 month membership, but have been pretty underwhelmed. I am mildly Jewish rather than Christian, so have very few matches. I have always felt the 29 dimensions were just an oddball number they picked to seem unique and worth the price, but as I am not a religious Christian person, after a handful of matches, they started sending me matches who they consider "flexible matching" not the 29 dimensions of compatibility. They are currently matching me with people who drink daily (I drink rarely to once every 2 weeks or so). I do want to explain as I am not religious at all, I am open to dating people of different religions, as long as they aren't religious, as I think that might be problematic. The people they match me with are not people I would be attracted to, and frankly have had much better luck with yahoo personals and match.com for less money. At least on there I've spoken on the phone with some people, and actually met them. Not with eharmony. To be fair, one of the ladies at my office married someone she met at eharmony. However, it is a matter of chance, and in my opinion eharmony is not as good as the others. An executive in my office just married a man she met on match.com. If you wish to join eharmony (best if you are Christian), get on their mailing list and wait til they have a really good deal. I paid about $50 for 3 months. Oh, a friend of mine has dated a guy from eharmony as she is ready for a serious relationship and felt this would be the way to go. She met a guy who is a nudist (really obsessed with it) and he is dating several people. This site is no different than others. . . beware. The 29 dimensions of compatibility are merely a number, and mostly it pertains to those who live within the distance you indicated is okay with you, and that is it. |
