A Review of Match.comWrite your own review of Match.com! Reviewed By: Traci Location: California Sex: Female Rating: ***** Date: May 31, 2008 I have tried match a few times with varying results. The first time I was on it I received "winks" but when I winked back no response. I cancelled after about 2 weeks of this. The second time I tried it I had much better results. I think it was due to the pictures I posted. I am in my mid 30's and would be described as cute. The first time I went on match I posted 2 photos and nothing much really happened. The 2nd time I posted 8 photos and made sure 1 of them included a full body shot. I on average get about 2-3 emails a week. When I first joined though I was getting 2 to 3 a day. I think guys look for the "new" button when searching and it seems like you just get more hits when you first join. I rejoined match about 3 months ago and have gone on 6 dates so far. My experience is that guys don't know what they want. I would say half of the guys I met looked nothing like their picture, hence no 2nd date. They are much older looking and also a lot heavier. I make sure that my pictures are at least 2 weeks old. Why fake it? The other half of the guys are either way too desperate and try to hard or else they seem really nice then all of a sudden become complicated. I have yet to meet someone that I went out with for more then a month. The thing with online dating though is that in the past 3 months I had 6 dates from it. In the real world I wasn't dating. I have long hours at work and most of my friends are already partnered up. So at least with online dating I am out there meeting ppl even if it hasn't worked out yet. I guess I am an eternal optimist and so don't want to give up. :) There are a few things about match that I wish they would improve on though. Their IM system is bad! It's not like in "real" time or something. Also, I think we should be able to clear out the ppl that have viewed you without deleting their profile. That way you aren't searching through a ton of pages and instead only looking at those that viewed you since you were last online. Also the fact that it shows you as online way after you have signed out is a little strange. I mean if when I log in it is automatically showing me as online then when I log out it should automatically log me out. I don't know how many times I came back online to see that I missed like 3 instant messages due to the person thought I was still online. Kinda fishy, no? I give it 3 stars though because there are a ton of ppl on match and I am actively meeting people. Good luck everyone!!!
