I rate AFF with one star.

I've been a member of this site off and on for a few years now. In that time the site has gotten worse and it was bad to begin with.

Much has been posted already about the fake ads, & the AFF employee profiles. I'd like to expand upon the 'legitimate' ads from single women out there.

Being in the northeast, I can attest that these ladies are all about what I call 'the AFF life' and not much else. They won't chat outside the site's IM system or chatrooms. And forget trying to include an alternate e-mail address or chat screen name through AFF, it gets filtered and deleted for AFF for violating their terms of service!

AFF claims an address can be sent after 2 e-mail exchanges but it's been my experience that regardless of mails sent, inclusion of an alternate address results in a filtered and deleted mail.

Now...on to the women. Many have ads listing them as single, but a cursory browse of profiles will show that most are either involved with someone, or even married. Why would a married woman leave her profile listing her as a single?

Should you enter chat and get acquainted with the local ladies, again, speaking only from experience in the New England area, few if any will agree to meet in person unless it is at a well publicized meet and greet mentioned constantly in the chat room.

I had the experience of attending one meet and greet a few years back. In attendance were maybe 15-20 women, a handful of couples, and easily over 100 guys! Just like being in AFF chat, except in person! lol

& for the most part, the ladies were average. Yes there were 2 maybe 3 very attractive women. But most were what they like to refer to themselves as BBWs. Not to sound judgmental but it's my opinion AFF is the only place these women get the amount of attention they do.

The 'dynamic' of the meet was nearly akin to the chatroom. There were the few ladies who literally buzzed all over the bar getting involved in every conversation taking place. And like in chat, it's tough trying to get to know a lady when there are 9 or 10 guys 'waiting in line' practically for the opportunity to butt in to the conversation, interrupting asking her if she'd like another drink, etc. Add to this all the alpha male type A personalities and you can see what a futile exercise an AFF meet and greet truly is.

I got involved with AFF initially because I took it at face value it boasted what it advertised, 'the world's largest sex and swinger community.' I've been friends with the same couple for a number of years, and AFF seemed the place to meet a lady interested in alternative lifestyles.

And though I have enjoyed some success on AFF, meeting a few ladies and several couples, it's my opinion the majority of ladies out there enjoy the 10 to 1 man ratio and being 'groveled over' for attention in chat and at the meet and greets.

I frequently see women, especially the ones who are married but have profile listing them as single, woo and swoon the men for attention but again, no chat or e-mail outside AFF. "if you want to meet me, come to the next meet and greet" What they don't say is that they'll be there with their husband and no, they don't enjoy the company of another man.

I've called out many of the gals promoting the meet and greets in the chat room and talk about getting chastised!! They immediately gang up and start firing away. 'what am I looking for, someone to hop in the sack with after an hour?' Not at all I reply but point out the sites' slogan, 'largest sex and swinger's community'

A gal in chat replies and I use her exact words "if you believe that I have a bridge I can sell you!"

I've actually had more luck on conventional dating sites tastefully stating who I am and what I seek.

Being somewhat 'negative' in chat regarding the meets has gotten me 'blacklisted' by the very active lady members in chat. While I haven't any proof positive of this, a woman I have met and remain friends with has told me that the ladies have a list of guys that new women members are discouraged from meeting.

The guys who are accepted are the ones content chatting only on AFF and using AFF mail, and meeting only at the chat room meet and greet events. While the ladies rave about these parties, I haven't seen much good said by guys who went and log in to chat a few days later. They remain quiet because they don't want to incur the wrath. lol

I did sign up a month ago just to see if things have changed but after seeing it's gotten worse I won't be renewing. And, just prior to my first month expiring, I miraculously received 4 emails that I first had to renew my subscription before viewing, even though my membership wasn't due to expire for another few days. I renewed, and surprise, the mails were from members replying to mails I'd sent weeks earlier saying 'sorry, not interested' or 'not seeking anyone new at this time'

Lesson learned, I'll delete my profile and cancel my credit card a good week before my subscription renewal, and I'll be sure to post in chat the various class action suits against AFF before departing the site for good!
