A Review of eHarmonyWrite your own review of eHarmony! Reviewed By: Carl Young Location: Colorado Springs Sex: Male Rating: ***** Date: November 17, 2007 I had a feeling eHarm_me was a scam when I signed up, but I figured I'd try it anyway thinking it couldn't be any worse than Match.com or Yazoo. I was wrong. Three months and several hundred useless closed-out "matches" later, it was crystal clear to me that the whole concept of compatibility matching by means of self-report measures is as intellectually bankrupt as astrology - and a whole lot more expensive and disappointing. Think about it, when you take Dr. Warren's bogus "test" online, you can answer it any way you want. There is nothing to stop a person from being decpetive in the manner in which they portray themselves. Human nature being what it is, people will often portary themselves in an overly favorable manner on such tests. So what do you get when you try to "match" folks who are not portraying themselves accurately? Matches that aren't really matches. Let's face it, Dr. Warren and his ilk are in the business of selling the pursuit of happiness, not happiness itself. If their electronic snakeoil had any efficacy, they'd put themselves out of business in a New York minute. There is a special place in Hell for con artists like Dr. Warren who trade on the hopes of lonely people. Avoid eHarmony.com and its ilk at all costs. |
