I am currently using eHarmony out of pure curiousity. I have been on it before, used it for a trial period, and cancelled it (receiving a full refund and a polite phonecall). I rejoined because I know of 5 couples that met their mates on the site and are hopelessly in love. One was even a critic. I went into a second membership with eyes wide open and more optimistic. The matches are not physically outstanding (the ones that are have been RUDE), others are too busy and few take the initiative. As a woman, I prefer that the man takes the initiative when it comes to this kind of stuff. It sets the course properly to me. So far, I'm okay with it. Most profiles are decent. Those that have closed me are thankfully NOT pleasing to my eyes or just plain into themselves and their talents. There are a large percentage of "third wheels" that are usually someone's good lonely friend or uncle that attend functions regularly (sometimes it's good to be busy with other stuff...hint hint). The matches are slow to come by now that I'm paid up....Ha! However, the commercials are still cranking, payday is coming up (more sales), it's summer and people are out having fun! I won't worry because it's time that I start somewhere. The background check will definitely come later!
