A Review of eHarmonyWrite your own review of eHarmony! Reviewed By: Marilyn Location: Olympia, WA Sex: Female Rating: ***** Date: July 29, 2007 I was scammed by a guy (or group) who wormed his way onto eHarmony. I contacted the media and the FBI (IC3 division). The scammer showed up 4 different times with the same profile--different address--different job & photo. Just because eHarmony is supposed to match you on the "29 dimensions" of compatibility does not guarantee anything. I informed eHarmony of the scam and they didn't take me seriously or they just don't care. I suspect that the all-mighty dollar is way more attractive to them than trying to maintain their image as the site with integrity. I plan on keeping on eHarmony because I honestly know 3 married couples who met their mates on Eharmony. I will not, however, renew at the end of my 6 month subscription. I am really angry that they haven't blocked the scammers. Look for an article on the scam (and me!) in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer which should go in either 8/2/07 and 8/16/07, or 8/16/07 and 8/30/07 as a two-part column Diane Mapes writes for the paper. I got to where I turned the tables on the scammer and started to scam him (or them), but when I didn't send money he stopped communication. I am really concerned about all of you falling prey to a scammer. You can read up on how they hook you by logging on "Sounds too Good to be True." Trust you gut instincts. Check out every red flag. If scammed, report it to IC3. |
