A Review of eHarmonyWrite your own review of eHarmony! Reviewed By: Karen Location: New Hampshire Sex: Female Rating: ***** Date: July 02, 2007 OK, I'm a sucker for happy stories including all those you see on eharmony commercials. Silly me. I filled out that ridiculously long questionnaire (at least they no longer include questions that forced you to "choose one" even if absolutely nothing fit) and got 6 matches. Yes, 6. Must be because I am female, 48, and live in New Hampshire. Every "match" was much older than I -- one was in his 60s. I checked the age range that eharmony set for me and saw that it was 44 to 64. Hmmm ... would a 48-year-old man be given an age range of 44 to 64? I suspect not. The hard part for me is, when people meet me in person they think I am in my early to mid-30s (good aging genes, apparently). Online, when I give my true age I am matched with men in their 60s. So I can meet men in person and by the time they get to know me my age isn't an issue (but given where I live there are few of them), or meet men online who are ready for retirement, or lie about my age online, get more reasonable matches, but start off deceiving them. I don't mean to sound superficial, but geez!! At least I did not lose any money. Now I am feeling sorry for the matches who asked for communication -- I have no way to tell them I am not a paying member so can't communicate with them. |
