One night, some girl friends and I decided to post our profiles on Yahoo personals, for some fun. Well, I posted mine, and checked it about once a week or so. I had a few dates with local guys I met through the site, and nothing worked out. I'm a single mom of a great little boy, and most of the guys out there didn't want to deal with "baggage", I guess. Then, one day I got a message saying- "I saw your profile, I like your smile. I work nights, have a hard time meeting people because I work so much... heres my email address if you want to chat." I had a good feeling about it, so emailed him.... without seeing a picture, and after reading only a basic profile. We chatted a couple times over the next couple days, then he said he would be in my area for a family visit, if I wanted to meet for ice cream (it was October!). We met at a coffee shop (after he got lost- I was sure he stood me up!) When he walked in, he was so nervous, and I thought he was so cute. HE looked around and then walked over to my table. I said something about the cheesecake I was eating, and he said he was hungry- we went and got Arbys ( still tease him about it!). We talked a bit, then he drove me home, and we talked more. Turns out, a mutual friend had tried to get us together the year before, but we had both just broken off relationships, so we didn't want to meet anyone new. Also, we knew a few mutual people who had mentioned him to me, and me to him... Fate?? Things just clicked, and I let him meet my son,and my son loved him right away- "The guy with the red truck, mom!"-- and I knew that was a good sign. They seemed to "click" also! Mike came to visit 2 days later, and the weather got horrible while he was there. I told him to sleep on my couch, I didn't want him getting into an accident in his hour drive home- and he basically never left after that! We moved in some of his stuff the next week, and have lived together since. We are now expecting another baby (in June), and got engaged last week! Everything has worked out great, and people are surprised when they find out how we met- Yahoo Peronals worked for us!! Thank you!!
