A Review of True.comWrite your own review of True.com! Reviewed By: P. Glenngarry Location: Nebraska Sex: Male Rating: ***** Date: June 14, 2006 My experience with True.com is one of the worst I've ever had. The day I signed up, I also signed up with about ten other services, and by the time I got to True I didn't read the terms and conditions very carefully. As a result, I didn't realize that people who are separated are not eligible to use the site. My fault--I should have read the terms more carefully. After about three weeks, I discovered my mistake. I sent an email to cancel my 1-month subscription. A week later I saw a $50 charge on my credit card. I called "customer care." After waiting on hold for about 20 minutes, I finally got a customer service rep who told me no refund would be issued. I asked to speak to a supervisor and calmly explained my situation--yes, I'd made a mistake in signing up, but I was now trying to fix that mistake. I saw no reason why I should pay $50 for a 2nd month's worth of a service, since I'm not eligible to use it. The supervisor then told me that, not only would I not receive a refund, he would be reporting me to the "fraud team" for prosecution. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I asked directly, "So as a result of trying to rectify my error, I'm being charged $50 and reported to the authorities?" His answer, "Yes." For what it's worth, during my time at True, I repeatedly received "winks" from women who DID NOT initiate contact with me. Likewise, I found myself receiving responses from winks that I never sent. This site is an elaborate scam, plain and simple. They generate false leads for their customers, and the customer service is unbelievably bad. Take this review in conjuction with the others you see on this site and stay far, far away from True.com. |
