Reviewed By: Closer1971 Location: South Carolina Sex: Male Rating: ***** Date: May 10, 2006 I am curious about if other ex members of True.com have experienced the following. I became a member in December 2005 and used the service for one month. After the month I called to cancel with no problems at all. After the cancellation I would log on periodically to check the mail. I started at Free 3 day trial because of a contact that interested me. On the 3rd day I called to cancel and after waiting 30 minutes to talk to someone the operator apologized for my wait and gave me 30 days free because of the troubles. How nice. I asked the guy over and over if I needed to call back to cancel at the end of the 30 day trial. He stated over and over NO, NO, NO. Well just the other day I noticed a 49.99 charge on my card. I called them to complain and got the "Well on our notes the operator informed you that you needed to call back to cancel". By this time I am very angry because I know what is going on, a big SCAM. After yelling at the operator I demanded to talk to the supervisor. AFter a 2 minute wait the operator comes back on and says that the supervisor is very busy and that she will override the billing department and refund the 49.99. The big shocker about this? I informed my now True.com girlfriend about what happened and she told me the EXACT SAME STORY!!! Yes they told her the same thing and only refunded her $25.... Waiting for my refund and now considering contacting the BBB. |
