A Review of Christian CafeWrite your own review of Christian Cafe! Reviewed By: R.E. Location: S.F. Bay Area Sex: Female Rating: ***** Date: February 27, 2006 I tried eharmony.com, singlec.com (single Christian) and Christian Cafe over a period of 9 months. I am now married to a wonderful man I met on singlec.com. But I would say that it was my positive experiences on Christian Cafe that kept me going in taking risks in dating. Positives: Christian Cafe doesn't just leave a "blank sheet" for people to struggle with, but forces its members to respond to thoughtful questions. Because my faith is very important to me, I was looking to sift out quickly those who weren't actively pursuing their spirituality. Christian Cafe not only has a long multiple choice selection for you to look at, but also asks wonderful detail questions, including ones about faith. Questions like describe how your faith is important to you? Or other equally revealing questions like: "Is your current job is your dream job, and if not what is?" (a great question to see if the person is engaged with life or just sliding by in their job at 7-11). I actually met nice guys who like me, had a good job, and had never been married. All guys I would be happy to set up with a friend when it didn't work out with me. Because you get a lot of info up front in the profile, if you are good at perceiving what people are telling you, and good at sifting many possibilities, this is a good site for you. Negatives: There are MANY MANY people on this website. This becomes a negative because, in my opinion, people lack a sense of urgency with so many choices. (I had a male friend with this same experience too). So you have to be persistent -- figure one out of ten will respond back to an e-mail message, much like cold-calling figures in sales. Bottom line: prices are decent, the pool of people is huge, and you can practice your skills at "sifting". Specifically targeted to Christians. |
