I would suggest anybody that has spent (wasted) money on dating sites to consider some of the real FREE dating sites where you can communicate both ways by receiving AND responding to emails. (it's the only ones I consider free, although some do offer some "paid" upgrades)

I have done a lot of research and have come up with three of my favorites. The only real issue is that they don’t have a large user base and it takes people to spread the word because of the low advertising budgets they have. But it's getting better.

The male to female ratios are about the same as "paid" sites so that's not an issue in my opinion. The 10:1 male to female ratios is a problem for men, FREE or not.
