A Review of Yahoo! PersonalsWrite your own review of Yahoo! Personals! Reviewed By: Curly9000 Location: suburban Detroit Sex: Male Rating: ***** Date: October 06, 2005 I was very disappointed with Yahoo personals but I learned a lot from the experience. I can't believe I was so naive as to expect that if I showed interest in someone she would actually be very eager to contact me. The reality is I paid my 40 dollars for 3 months and responded to 50 or 60 ads. This was a lot of work, writing all those emails. I did not receive more than 3 or 4 responses. Another time, I did meet two women within a short period of time and was not really interested in either one (one of them posted a really old picture and was nothing like the picture--she looked like my grandmother), but there were so many others who didn't acknowledge me. A few people responded and led me to believe we would meet but it never happened. I daresay this is how it probably works for most guys. There are also several ads which have been there for at least a year. This is suspicious. Some of the ads look to good to be true and are clearly fake. I wanted to cancel my subscription, but they would not let me because I could not remember my secret security question. I feel like an idiot for all the times I rushed home to see if anyone had responded to any of my responses to their ads. If you are not interested in meeting anyone you should have your ad taken down. Yahoo does not screen out the fakes. I thought the purpose of instituting a fee was to keep fake ads from being posted. I am bitter about the whole dating scene in general and would discourage people from wasting their time on this servic |
