A Review of Yahoo! PersonalsWrite your own review of Yahoo! Personals! Reviewed By: sunny_thousand_oaks Location: Thousand Oaks, CA Sex: Female Rating: ***** Date: October 04, 2005 Chins up fellow on-line daters! Life is good! Yahoo has been a great return on investment. I posted a free profile, have paid no money, and have spent a few hours a week on-line for three months. For my 'valuable time' I have flirted 42 times. That's more action than I've seen at the grocery store all year! I recently moved from a small town to Thousand Oaks, a mid-sized bedroom community near Los Angeles. So I REALLY don't know anyone. I am the kind of person that reads the classified ads for entertainment and I find on-line ads, like personals, to be highly entertaining! It's rare to find a guy that puts much thought into describing themselves. Those that do take the time are something else altogether: they take some extra special care, high maintenance. But I am high maintenance as well. But, I'm not shy! And I'm not bad looking, defineltely not fat, AND I can put two words together. I was shy at first. I didn't post a photo, and was afraid of the 'commitment' to correspond if I flirted online. I got really great response to my profile over a one month period. It was titled "Ashley Judd with OCD" ...Then I got brave. I have posted my photo, and put up a sassy little title "LOST/FOUND: cute loveable companion." To date I have sent out 29 canned flirtations. 10 of them have written back. 14 guys wrote to me and I alway extend the courtesy of a reply. Currently I correspond with 4 gentlemen that fit my criteria pretty well. Oh, and there was one psycho. Not bad statistics. If I was a paid member, there is one other profile that I have had my eye on called "Fit-to-be-tied". It's almost worth the 20 bucks to join so I could corrrespond. Mmm, mmm. Of course, my results reflect my willingness to get out there and a social strata bent in my favor. My recommendation for the guys: put a little thought into your profile! I don't care if you talk about your relationship with your dog, or talk about your work, photos are both our friends and our enemies, so use your words! Recommendation for the ladies: Go ahead and flirt! PS- I suspect that Yahoo has different rules for men than for women. I have noticed a few times that if I (as a female) flirt with a guy, they actually give him a free email response, where he COULD send his email address and never pay to be a member. However, if a guy flirts withe me, one of us would have to pay to join, in order to send anything other than a 'canned respone.' Just an observation. Five Stars |
